About This Project

This was a software application to be added to the TX9000, Cisco’s flagship TelePresence product. This application would allow users to annotate on a shared presentation, both locally and remotely, by anyone with the Escape touch control device. During the development of the application the core OS and visual design language underwent major changes, so the visual design of the application did too. Included here are some alternate designs of the UI, with the newer design language pictured on the right.

Working with an interaction designer, I created a variety of UI designs, wire-frames and prototypes for this application. I built the Flash demo, as well the visual designs for the application, including new icons not part of the core visual language toolkit.

In addition to the visual design of the application, I created a flash-based demo of the application. This demo was used to communicate to developers one of the most complex and misunderstood issues: what the user experience should be, both on a local and remote endpoint when using this application. IX designers, Product Management and Engineering each had differing ideas of how this application should work. This demo helped to clearly articulate the experience; get agreement and buy in on the feature set to be delivered by engineering.
